About the Job

Full-time position will recruit, train, supervise, and support a team of migrant and/or seasonal farmworkers to serve as Promotores/as with the input of camp residents, growers and health care providers in Whatcom and Skagit counties.

 

This position will also coordinate outreach to migrant and seasonal farmworkers in Skagit and Whatcom counties -- including the annual migrant camp outreach, across departments within Sea Mar and outside of Sea Mar with partner agencies -- including contacting growers, arranging the outreach schedule, coordinating implementation (services provided, adequate staffing and volunteer support), documentation/tracking, and reporting.

 

The Coordinator will introduce the Promotor(a) Program to local health providers, growers, and community agencies and maintain cooperative relationships with them. With respect to reporting, this position will tabulate and submit data collected by Promotores/as and produce written program anecdotes on a weekly basis.

 

Supervisory Relationships: Reports to Program Manager

 
Required Qualifications

Well-developed organizing skills and demonstrated ability to recruit, motivate and lead a team of promotores.  

Knowledge and skills in health education and program development, implementation, and evaluation.

 

Bilingual in English and Spanish essential.

 

Familiarity with primary health care delivery or social services. Experience with migrant and seasonal farmworkers (MSFWs) and MSFW issues.

 

Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Powerpoint software programs. 

 

Degree in health education, public health, social work, community nursing, or equivalent life experience.

 

Must have own transportation.
